I know what production looks like.
I've been a carpenter for 31 years. I ran a 40-person cabinet shop and oversaw over $42 million in production across my career.
We were producing at massive volume. And the whole time, one question sat in the back of my mind: how long can my body keep up with this?
If you work with your hands, you know that question. The knees. The back. The 2pm wall that shows up a little earlier every year. Every guy on the tools wonders how many good years he has left in him.
From my site days.
Six years ago, a business I'd built on the side let me step away from construction. This year I worked on a cabin for a family friend and remembered how much I love making sawdust.
So now I'm back on the tools. On my terms. When I want, as long as I want.
And I'm surprising myself. I'm out-producing what I used to do, and feeling better doing it.
So this is for the guy who wants to keep going strong for the long haul. And the guy who wants his edge back.
I was already in a good spot. Down 29 pounds over the last while with my Nueva routine. And 27 years of chronic pain finally started easing up this spring.
Then I added Beyond Advanced to my morning Nitro.
Holy freaking shirt balls.
The longest day of my year
Zero sleep before a 5:30 a.m. flight. Flew home, unpacked, took Beyond for the first time. Flat tire on the way to walk the dogs, and I stayed calm. Then I deep-fried a turkey, cleaned the house, hosted family dinner, walked the dogs again and worked on my son's dirt bike. On no sleep. Then the hot tub, where my shorts (29 lbs too big now) floated right off. Carla giggled at stuff she's seen before.
Done by 12:30. Then my best ride ever.
Casing doors, hanging doors, building shelving. I planned on finishing around 3:00. Done at 12:30. Went dirt biking with my buddy on three trails we've ridden for 4 years. We both set our best lap times on all three, times that hadn't improved in years.
Thought it was 4:30. It was 3:30.
Phone died on site, so I just worked. Did more than I needed to, packed up, plugged in the phone. 3:30. Cravings? Way down. The afternoon slump I've had my whole career? Basically gone.
Out by 3:30. And it didn't end there.
Friday. The end of the highest-production week I've had in a long time. Out by 3:30. Then I came home, cleaned my office, did the laundry and cleaned the garage. On a Friday night. And there was still plenty left in the tank for the "thank yous" ๐
I've been around a lot of products. This one got my attention fast.
Here's what's different.
I'm still working hard and eating real food. Beyond is in my corner while I put in the work. And I'll keep sharing exactly what happens as this goes.
